Lanterns with an oriental touch

Summer is coming and you feel like open air parties with the family and friends. Good decoration will always liven up any summer event and these paper lanterns are sure to be a success.

MATERIALS

APLI scrapbooking paper

APLI wooden sticks

APLI cutter

APLI wool

STEP 1

Make several vertical cuts in the paper and then Fold. It is important to follow the measurements given here.

STEP 2

Roll the paper into a tube and secure it with clips.

STEP 3

Staple it together and remove the clips.

STEP 4

Push down on the lantern with the palm of your hand to give it the characteristic lantern shape. Fold the top and bottom of the strips with your fingers to achieve the rounded shape.

STEP 5

Cut the sticks 12 cm long and insert them into the top and bottom. Making small holes first with the cutter.

STEP 6

Join the two sticks with a piece of wire that will pull them together and maintain the rounded shape.

STEP 7

Cut a piece of wool and tie it to the stick.

STEP 8

Now the only thing left to do it to hang them up! Don’t they look pretty? And you can choose different types of paper patterns and combine them.
