For daddy!
Have you got the present for Father’s Day? What about giving it to him in a very special bag? This handicraft will show you how to make original bags made of card, step by step. You can use them to put your present in, hold a letter or any other handicraft that your kids have made to surprise daddy in his special day.
MATERIALS
APLI cardboard
APLI scissors
APLI white glue
APLI educational stickers
STEP 1
Chose a card in your favourite colour. Take into account that the larger the card, the bigger the bag will be. Choose the size depending on what you want it to contain.
STEP 2
Make a small fold as shown in the photo and apply glue. (If the card is 50 x 30 for example, fold about 3 cm)
STEP 3
Joint this lower margin with glue to the upper part of the card forming like a cylinder.
STEP 4
Squash the cylinder against the table with your hands, keep it firmly pressed for a few seconds until the glue has stuck.
STEP 5
Choose one of the open sides and make a fold.
STEP 6
Open the fold you have made and squash it down to form two triangles.
STEP 7
Fold the upper and lower part inwards to form the base.
STEP 8
Glue the upper fold to stick it to the lower.
STEP 9
Fold the sides of the bag
STEP 10
Open it carefully, putting your hand inside to shape the base and the sides.
STEP 11
Fold the upper part (the open end) downwards a few centimetres.
STEP 12
Make diagonal folds so it looks like this.
STEP 13
To make the neck of the “shirt”, cut a strip of APLI card about 20 cm x 2 cm. It can be in card of the same colour or different.
STEP 14
Apply glue and stick the strip to the top of the bag, where you made the diagonal folds. Also apply glue to the ends of the strip that forms the neck of the “shirt” and stick them to the bag, so they are not loose.
STEP 16
Draw a tie, a moustache, on the card you like best. Cut them out and stick them to the bag. Add some stickers to decorate as well.
There are several steps, but it’s very simple. Once you have made one, you can make as many as you want and decorate them as you like.
You have the whole weekend to do this handicraft with your children and surprise daddy on his day. Happy Father’s Day!
