Do you remember the delightful film UP, where a child and a grandad fly off in a house? Well these coloured balloons soaring upwards have inspired the handicraft for today. What do you think?

MATERIALS

APLI coloured sheets of card

APLI buttons

APLI Washitape

APLI scissors

APLI glue

STEP 1

Stick buttons of different sizes and colours to a piece of card, forming a circle, which will be the balloon.

STEP 2

When the balloon with the buttons is finished, take three or four pieces of wool, you could also use craft string or something similar. Stick them to the buttons at one end and leave the lower ends loose.

STEP 3

Now you can make the balloon basket. We have used corrugated cardboard and put a strip of washitape at the bottom, but as we always say: power to imagination!

STEP 4

Now stick the basket to the card, placing it well and sticking the woollen threads underneath it, so they can’t escape.

And there you are! You just have to find a place for it on the wall…
