How many days until Christmas?

insidepost_13 There is only a week to go to Christmas Day. Every year we normally have an advent calendar at home that reminds us of how many days are left until this long-awaited moment, especially for kids. Today we are going to make a handicraft, which may seem complicated at first, but that is actually quite simple if you have all the materials at hand and download our templates that will really make your work much easier. Follow these steps and create your own advent calendar: 24 days, 24 surprises to these very important days with the family. Materials: Double sided adhesive tape APLI scissors An APLI cutter Cardboard APLI red cardboard APLI red EVA foam APLI kraft paper APLI silicone glue Hole punch insidepost_5 Step 1: Download the cylinder_TEMPLATE in order to make the red cardstock cylinders. The template contains two identical drawings, so we have to print out a total of 12 cardstock sheets to get 24 cylinders. Directly insert the A4 APLI cardstock sheets and print the drawing out on them. Then cut them out around the outer line and mark out the indentations with the punch a couple of times that will help us fold and join the cylinder. insidepost_12 Step 2: Stick the double-sided adhesive tape on one side of the long sides and one of the short sides only. Do the same for the 24 cardstock sheets. insidepost_11 Step 3: Remove the yellow paper from the adhesive tape and cut out a few small tassels on both sides of each cardstock sheet. insidepost_10 Step 4: Join the two ends of the cardstock and stick your cylinder to the cardboard that you already cut out measuring about 28 cm wide and about 42 cm long. insidepost_9 insidepost_8 Step 5: Using the cardboard, join the two pieces in the shape of a roof to look like a house. Also give it a pedestal, made with the same material, at the back to give it more stability. insidepost_7 insidepost_6 Step 6: Download the template with the numbers and print it out on kraft paper. Once the 24 cylinders are placed on the cardboard, cut out the circles with numbers. Before sticking the numbers onto the cylinders using APLI silicone glue, don’t forget to insert the surprises that you wish to find every day. Place the small APLI gifts and folded pieces of paper containing inspiring quotes to make each day special. insidepost_4 insidepost_3   insidepost_2 Step 7: Cover the roof with red EVA foam to give it a more Christmassy feel. You can also print out another cylinder and give it a small chimney. Decorate your advent calendar with a floral Christmas arrangement, a star or anything else that comes to mind to make it more attractive. insidepost_1 You can now start the countdown with your family with this advent calendar made with your own hands! Look how lovely it looks on the shelf!
