Fruit is always cool!

Summer is just around the corner and there is no better time for fruit than a nice hot day. For this reason, this handicraft shows you how to make a strawberry with wool to decorate different corners of your house or for you children to play with non-stop. Kids love colour and playing with wool, so this original and colourful DIY activity is guaranteed to keep them amused. We made a strawberry, but, using the same process, you can make any fruit you like. 1. Cut out 4 semi-circles like these, from cardboard.

  1. Tie the red wool as you can see in the photo and begin to wrap the cardboard, winding it round several times. Wind on some white wool for the seeds. You can alternate red and white wool but be careful not to use too much white!

  1. Wrap the green wool around one of the ends of each semi-circle, as you can see in the illustration (do not cover all the end of the semi-circle).

  1. Join the semi-circles as in the illustration and keep them joined at their ends with a peg on each end.

  1. Insert the scissors between the two pieces of cardboard and start cutting. When you get to the green wool, cut some threads shorter than others to form the stalk of the strawberry.

  1. Finally, it will be like a pompom. Now you can trim it with the scissors, try to make the lower end sharper, so it looks like a pretty strawberry.
