St. George Roses
Legend has it that the Saint George Rose originated from the love he felt for the princess when he killed the dragon tried to eat his beloved. The blood gushing out turned into a red rose that Saint George brought to the princess and since then, April 23 marks the day of the rose.
MATERIALS
- APLI eva foam
- APLI wooden round sticks
- Scissors
STEP 1
Let's begin. We cut out squares of APLI eva foam in different sizes.
STEP 2
We cut out what will become the petals from each eva foam squares and we make a cut in the centre of each lower end.
STEP 3
We start off with the biggest petal. We take it, fold over the two lower ends towards the centre and we stick a round wooden stick through it.
STEP 4
We follow the same process with the rest of the petals, starting with the biggest ones and ending with the smallest ones. We overlap them.
STEP 5
When all of them are in position, it should look something like this.
STEP 6
We cut out a green flower that will be the base of the flower.
STEP 7
We now place the piece that we have cut out and it looks like this.
You can make them in the colours that you like the best!
