Their first little shoes
There is something irresistible about babies´ feet, you feel like smothering them with kisses. So, we have thought up a handicraft to dress up those sweet little feet. A pair of light and delicate bootees, easy to make and which will care for the baby’s delicate skin. In addition, it’s a perfect gift for any mother.
One, two, three… let’s make them!
MATERIALS
APLI Dressy Bond
APLI felt
APLI scissors
Cardboard
Needle
Thread
STEP 1
First make the patterns on cardboard, then cut out all the pieces. This bootee model is for 6-month old babies.
STEP 2
Lay out the pieces like this to assemble the first shoe. The white felt gives a soft touch to the bootee.
STEP 3
Close the front part by fitting the two ends and secure them with a needle.
STEP 4
Take the needle and thread and begin to stitch the three layers together. Here we show you how to make a type of stitching that will be very useful for many sorts of handicraft. It looks very tidy and there’s no need for a sewing machine.
STEP 5
And here it is! You can add a tab at the rear to give it a touch of colour. Don’t they look delightful? Well, imagine how they will look on the feet of a little baby…
We hope you like them!
