One of our favourite traditions is coming round again, Sant Jordi (Saint George). Every April 23rd the streets are full of roses and books, and we thought … why not make a paper rose that will last all year round?

Do you like the idea? Well, let’s get started!

MATERIALS

APLI Dressy Bond

APLI scissors

APLI wooden skewer sticks

APLI stapler

STEP 1

Cut all the pieces you will need from the Dressy Bond cloth.

STEP 2

Take one of the circles, and cut a spiral with the scissors, from the outside to the inside.

3

STEP 3

Twist the spiral with your hands.

4 5

STEP 4

When the spiral is made, pinch the shape you have made with your fingers and staple it with the other hand to secure it. It is important to secure all the turns well. To make the flower thicker, do the same with the other red circle you cut in step 1.

6 7

STEP 5

Now fit all the parts to the wooden stick. First place the leaves with a simple knot around the stick. The Dressy Bond cloth is a bit flexible and that will help to make the knot. Then the green circle and finally the two flowers.

And here it is, soft and full of colour, as if it were real, do you know who you’re going to give it to?
