Bookmarks of the characters St George’s day!
Here comes St George’s day, a party where roses and books are given to loved ones. It is a good tradition to introduce children to reading and encourage older children to read new books. This year we have created bookmarks pages with the characters of the legend of St George: princess, knight, rose and dragon. To join and encourage children to read!
Here we leave you all the materials used:
- Color cardboards
- Felt sheets
- Red pipe cleaner
- Wooden color sticks
- Markers
- Moving eyes
- Scissors
- White glue
Follow these steps to create the character you like best:
- Cut out a circle on the cardboard. We used green for the dragon, pink for the princess, red for the rose and blue for the knight.
- Decorate the circles by creating the different characters:
Dragon
- Stick the moving eyes.
- Cut out the teeth on the white felt and the fire spitting on the red one.
- Crea los cuernos también con fieltro rojo.
- Then finish decorating the dragon with markers drawing the eyebrows, ears or whatever you want.
Princess
- Stick the moving eyes.
- Cut the crown on white felt and finish decorating it like you want with markers or cardboards.
- Stick a rectangle to create a necklace.
- Finish creating the princess with the markers.
Rose
- Screw the red pipe cleaner and glue it to the red circle.
- Cut out two leaves on the green cardboard and hook them into the circle.
Knight
- Stick the moving eyes.
- Cut out the armour on the white felt and decorate the cross of Sant Jordi with the red marker.
- Create the helmet with white cardboard.
- Finally, decorate the character with markers.
- 3. Connect the wooden sticks of different colours. Gather three sticks together and hook with white glue another stick from behind diagonally.
- Fix the circle and the wooden sticks with white glue and… DONE!
We hope you enjoyed this handicraft and encourage you to do it at home with your children or at school with the students. In our IG @aplikids you can watch the video step by step. Now all you have to do is choose the book, happy St George day to all of us!
